| Background |
In 1990, the Chairman and his associates incorporated various companies in the Group to carry on the business of industrial distribution and tape and reel manufacturing services for surface mount technology for electronic components. Today, it is a component supplier and distributor to certain key sectors of the electronic industry such as computer disk drives, telecommunications and consumer electronics. Flextech Hldgs was incorporated on 13 October 1993 as a private limited company. It was converted into a public company on 18 August 1994. The principal activities of the Company are those of investment holding. The subsidiaries are primarily engaged in the sale and distribution of electronic components and acting as commission agents; assembly services and manufacturing of electronic products; including switches, repackaging of electronic components; and developing and marketing equipment in semiconductor back-end processes and the design and manufacture of probe cards and packing materials for electronic devices. |
