Hiap Seng was founded in 1950 as a sole proprietorship under the name Hiap Seng Engineering Works. On 29 March 1971, the firm was corporatised and its name was changed to Hiap Seng Engineering & Construction (Pte) Ltd. In line with the change of its status to a public limited company, it changed its name to Hiap Seng Engineering Ltd on 28 May 1999. It is a one-stop shop service provider of mechanical engineering, plant fabrication and installation and plant maintenance to the oil-and gas, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries in Singapore, Asia Pacific and other regions.
